(DISCLAIMER: I don't care what side of the political spectrum this could happen to...Dems or Repubs...this is TOTALLY IMPOSSIBLE and TOTALLY WRONG)
I'm no "expert" on Information Systems and the Security (Read: RAID, BACKUPS, REDUNDANCY, FIVE-NINES, CLUSTERING, Etc) of data on them, but this is TOTALLY IMPOSSIBLE.

The IRS is saying: the agency only has Lerner emails to and from other IRS employees during this time frame. The IRS claims it cannot produce emails written only to or from Lerner and outside agencies or groups, such as the White House, Treasury, Department of Justice, FEC, or Democrat offices.
In order for this to be true, the following things have to be true:
1. The IRS isn't using mail servers. Everything had to be on a single HD on her PC on her desk.
2. The IRS doesn't employ any form of RAID/CLUSTERING/REDUNDANCY for their servers
3. The IRS doesn't do ANY data backups, either FULL, INCREMENTAL, DIFFERENTIAL to Tape, CLUSTERED SERVERS or BACKUP SERVERS using BBP for media rotation.
4. There was a bug on JUST her PC that "selectively" ONLY erased that data pertinent to the ongoing investigaton of the IRS targeting of conservative groups.
5. The IRS has never heard of Data Recovery and Computer Forensics companies.
6. Lerner wasn't using her IRS email, instead using a gmail or some other account (but, that would be illegal, and Google doesn't employ any of the above mentioned stuff....right?)
7. Those individuals in the WH, Treasury, DoJ, FEC, or Dem Offices noted above would ALSO be using a gmail or similar account (repeat of item 6)
OK Batman......tell me the probability of this!
